Unique?

I like to think of myself as a unique little snowflake, like no other.

''Of course you are', cry all. (And 'Thank God', they mutter too.)

But I noticed, when reviewing the photos I took up at the allotment the other day that one in particular reminded me of someone...

aaaaaaaaaaNana OubaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaOub

Really, it's just me with better hair.

It makes me come over all Calvinistic (and I'm talking the religion here, not the And Hobbes variety...) Is my life under my control? Do I have free will? Or am I just a genetic copy destined to trot along a predestined path??

My Nana had two boys and a girl.

Check.

She was prone to a bit of the pudge.

Check.

She was by all accounts a bit barmy.

Check.

Noticing a pattern?

Disturbing!

Then again, my maternal grandfather was a vegetable growing writer. So maybe I'm fixating on the wrong grandparent.

And thankfully I don't have his bald spot. (Just yet at least.)

Mrs EEjit (when she wants to really annoy me) says I'm starting to look like my mother. It's hard to convey quite how appalling that notion is to me.

My mother says she looks in the mirror and sees Nan. I look in the mirror and see Mum. I suspect shit happens.

By the way, you both look lovely, though I note there is not a smear of mud on your fair skin.

Titus, the rain had washed it all away...

TFE - good to have you back man. Mrs Eejit is very naughty. But, maybe it's a compliment? (er....)

Niamh - The pic was taken in 1936. Cool. I kinda like her dress too, minimal, chic... or something...

That's a little weird. You both look like you're looking a bit beyond whatever's in front of you.

Re-reading my comment, I should probably mention that that was meant in a good way ... (slaps palm on forehead)

I've been looking at lots of old photos recently and you're right - their hair was much better in the old days!
